Immunization
Clinic
At birth, your baby receives temporary immunity from you, but that protection
doesn't last long. That's why babies start their
immunizations at 2 months of age. Complete the basic series by the time
your child is 2 years old. Give boosters at school entry. To protect the
health of children, Wisconsin law requires students in kindergarten through
grade 12, and children in licensed day care centers, to be immunized according
to the schedule. Waivers are available for medical, religious, or personal
conviction reasons.Keep and up-to-date immunization record at home. Record
all your children's immunizations by month, day, and year. If you do not
have an immunization record, ask your doctor or nearest health department
to give you one.Immunizations are offered at various sites throughout
the county. Flu shots are given during the Fall months (November) and recommended
for all people over age 60 and individuals with chronic health problems
or anyone who wants to be protected against the Flu.
The following immunizations
are available at all clinics:
DPT - Diptheria-pertussis-tetnus
Td - Tetanus-diptheria
OPV - Oral polio
MMR - Measles-mumps-rubella
HbCV - Haemophilus influenza B
